Mar Excellence Contracting Establishment

As the DevUnit team, we developed maraqar.com website as a digital platform to showcase the contracting and real estate services of Mar Excellence Contracting Establishment in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The site aims to facilitate the sale of owned apartments, provide maintenance services, and share insightful articles about the real estate market. Below is a detailed description of the development stages, focusing on requirements gathering, planning, implementation, design, problem-solving, security, and visitor verification:

  1. Requirements Gathering

We held in-depth meetings with Maraqaar’s management to understand their needs. Functional requirements included displaying property listings with details (area, number of rooms, status, and images), creating a blog section for real estate articles relevant to Jeddah, and a contact form for maintenance requests or appointment scheduling. Non-functional requirements emphasized mobile compatibility, full Arabic language support, and fast page load times. We conducted competitor analysis and user surveys to ensure the site meets the expectations of the Saudi real estate market, prioritizing ease of navigation and visual appeal.

  2. Planning Phase

We created a comprehensive plan, including a sitemap outlining key sections: homepage, properties (e.g., Safa and Sawari apartments), blog, and contact form. We selected modern technologies to ensure high performance and interactivity, dividing the project into timed milestones, such as completing the design in two weeks and performance testing within the second month. We adopted an Agile methodology to allow flexibility for client feedback and allocated a budget for hosting on reliable Saudi-based servers.

  3. Implementation and Design Phase

We began by designing user-friendly interfaces using tools like Figma, focusing on a responsive design that works seamlessly across mobiles and desktops. The color scheme was inspired by the company’s branding, incorporating high-quality property images and interactive buttons for property details. We implemented dynamic sections, such as property listings, using databases to store information and mechanisms to update property statuses (e.g., “sold” or “available”). The implementation was completed in three months, with regular testing to ensure smooth navigation between pages.

  4. Problem Solving

We faced challenges like slow loading of large property images, which we resolved by compressing images and using a Content Delivery Network (CDN). Compatibility issues with older browsers were addressed through targeted adjustments. Tools like Git for version control and Jira for task management helped us resolve issues efficiently. We also incorporated client feedback, such as adding an advanced property search feature, without delaying the launch timeline.

  5. Securing the Website

Security was a priority from the start. We implemented HTTPS for data encryption and applied firewalls to prevent attacks. Protection against SQL Injection and XSS attacks was ensured through input sanitization techniques. We added CAPTCHA to the contact form to prevent spam and conducted regular security scans using tools like OWASP ZAP. Regular software updates and daily data backups were implemented, ensuring compliance with Saudi data protection standards, such as those set by the NCA.

  6. Visitor Verification

We integrated verification mechanisms, such as CAPTCHA on the contact form, to ensure requests come from genuine users. Given the public nature of the site, a full login system was not required, but we implemented email verification for contact form submissions to ensure secure interactions while maintaining visitor privacy in line with data protection standards.

Conclusion

This project highlights DevUnit’s expertise in creating specialized digital platforms, enhancing Maraqaar’s online presence and increasing customer engagement in the Saudi real estate market.
