Rwad AlManahej Student Platform

Project Overview

As DevUnit team, we developed the Student Platform as a centralized digital hub designed to serve students within the Rowad Al-Manahej Educational System.
The platform provides a structured, interactive, and secure environment that allows students to access academic materials, follow up on progress, and stay updated with announcements — all through a responsive and user-friendly interface.

Requirements Gathering

We collaborated with the Rowad Al-Manahej management to define key educational objectives and ensure the platform meets both functional and performance goals.

Functional requirements included:

  • Displaying lessons and resources by subject and grade level.

  • Providing downloadable educational materials.

  • Enabling students to track their activities and updates via a personalized dashboard.

  • Integrating a dynamic announcement and notification system.

Non-functional requirements included:

  • Full Arabic language support.

  • Responsive design for all devices.

  • High performance and fast loading speed.

  • Secure authentication and user data protection.

Planning Phase

A detailed sitemap was designed to include:
Home, Lessons, Resources, Dashboard, Announcements, and Support.

Our planning process focused on:

  • Establishing clear content hierarchy and student flow.

  • Defining design and development milestones.

  • Setting up secure hosting with SSL encryption and automated backups.

We adopted an Agile workflow to ensure flexibility, regular feedback, and transparent collaboration with the client.

Implementation and Design Phase

The UI/UX design was created in Figma, emphasizing simplicity, readability, and academic trust.
The platform’s visual identity reflects modern educational standards with intuitive layouts and consistent user flow.

Developed using Laravel + Filament, the platform offers a robust backend structure, advanced admin panel, and a secure data layer powered by SQL.

Key implementations included:

  • Modular architecture for scalable content management.

  • Dashboard with real-time student data and notifications.

  • Lesson and resource categorization by subject and grade.

  • Secure login system with role-based access.

  • Optimized content delivery for speed and accessibility.

Problem Solving

During development, several challenges were identified and efficiently resolved:

  • Content performance optimization achieved through caching and query refinement.

  • Responsive inconsistencies fixed using adaptive layouts and flexible CSS grids.

  • Font rendering and RTL layout issues addressed for perfect Arabic display across browsers.

Collaboration tools such as GitHub and Trello ensured an organized, transparent, and efficient workflow.

Security and Optimization

Security and performance were top priorities throughout the project.

Key measures included:

  • HTTPS and SSL encryption for secure connections.

  • Role-based authentication to protect student data.

  • Database query optimization for faster load times.

  • CDN integration and caching for smooth performance.

The platform achieved excellent results in Core Web Vitals and delivered consistent, reliable performance.

Testing and Verification

Before launch, the platform underwent comprehensive testing:

  • Cross-browser and device compatibility tests.

  • Validation of forms, sessions, and user permissions.

  • Performance benchmarking and load testing.

  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with the client team for final approval.

Conclusion

Through this platform, Rowad Al-Manahej can efficiently manage educational resources, streamline communication, and enhance the student learning experience in a secure digital environment.
